Patrol, ODOT announce enforcement corridor targeting distracted driving

The Ohio State Highway Patrol and Ohio Department of Transportation are having a news conference announcing the first Distracted Driving Corridor.

The corridor will run along Interstate 76 and Interstate 80 between Newton Falls Road and Liberty Street.

The goal of the corridor is to cut down on crashes caused by distracted drivers.

ODOT will be placing signs throughout the corridor warning motorists that they are in a high enforcement area and signs will also be placed urging people not to drive distracted.

Troopers from both the Warren and Canfield posts will also step up patrols in the corridor to be on the lookout for signs of distracted driving
