Library plans program on Alaskan brown bear

SALEM

Salem Public Library, 821 E. State St., will host a free interactive video-conference program at 6:30 p.m. Thursday that will introduce participants to the McNeil River State Game Sanctuary in Alaska, the largest known gathering of brown bears in the world.

Alaska Zoo Education Director Stephanie Hartman will be the guide on a photo and video exploration and will share stories of her journey into the wilds of the McNeil River. Included will be an introduction to the Alaska Zoo, its location and mission.
