Boardman Glenwood Junior High eighth-grade football defeated Howland by scores of 14-6 and 8-0.
In the first game, Jason Triveri hit Cameron Thompson for a 30-yard touchdown with 19 seconds left in the game to take the lead. Triveri then ran in the 2-point conversion. Anthony Hightower sealed the victory with an interception.
Leading in passing was Jason Triveri 9/12 for 155 yards and a touchdown. Top players in rushing were Sean O’Horo (25 yards), Teddy Davis (15 yards), Jason Triveri (10 yards and a touchdown) and Raymond Cmil (5 yards). Top players in receiving were Anthony Hightower (50 yards), Cameron Thompson (45 yards and a touchdown), Carter Mraz (45 yards), Raymond Cmil (10 yards) and Sean O’Horo (5 yards).
Defensive standouts for the game were Sean O’Horo, Tristen Hutchko, Blaine Strines, Daniel Fetty, Stephen Conti, Carter Mraz and Nick Simione. Raymond Cmil recovered a fumble and Anthony Hightower had an INT.
In the second game, Marcel Tomlin took the first handoff and ran 65 yards for a touchdown. Ashton LaBelle followed with the 2-point conversion. Leading in passing was Colin Thomas 2/3 for 15 yards. Top players in rushing were Marcel Tomlin (75 yards and a touchdown) and Ashton LaBelle (5 yards and a 2-point conversion). Top players in receiving were Reshaud Biggs (10 yards) and Luke Ryan (5 yards).
Defensive standouts for the game were Robbie Williamson, Christian Odom, Max Rasegga, Josiah McIlwain, Tyler Rea and Nathan Hargrove.
