Boardman Park Camp gave children from kindergarten through sixth-grade lessons focused on science, art and teamwork at the park on Aug. 7.

The camp had a special event with the Davey Tree Expert Company. Their station taught the children how to climb trees using a pulley system. A rope wrapped around a tree branch and down to a seat, where the child sat. The child then pulled the rope and hoisted themselves up to the tree branch and rang a bell in the tree.

Other stations included a sports event on the baseball field that taught the campers batting and fielding techniques, a teamwork area where the children helped one another solve puzzles and an art station where the children wrote skits and drew pictures with sidewalk chalk.

The camp also offered events later in the week from the Green Team and the local fire department.

The camp ended on the Aug. 18, but it is offered every year.
