Ivan Prosvetov made 29 saves as the Youngstown Phantoms won for the first time at home this season.

The Phantoms scored three unanswered goals in Friday’s 3-1 defeat of the Muskegon Lumberjacks at the Covelli Centre.

“I’m happy for the guys, I’m also happy with the execution,” Phantoms head coach Brad Patterson said. “We made some systematic switches over the week that I thought the guys did a great job with.

“Everyone had success, everyone chipped in and that’s the biggest thing for me.”

Michael Regush scored the first goal for the Phantoms (2-3-1-1, 6 points). Matthew Barry battled against Muskegon defenders for close to 10 seconds before centering from behind the net to Regush in front who fired it home at 6:56 of the first period.

The Phantoms stretched their lead to 2-0 just 1:16 into the second period when Tommy Parrottino scored a power-play goal, his first tally as a Phantom.

Parrottino took advantage of a bounce off the stick of Lumberjacks goaltender Adam Brizgala (19 saves) and slid the puck through the five-hole while Brizgala was out of position after a poke check.

Barry scored the other goal on an assist by Eric Esposito.

Vincent de May spoiled Prosvetov’s shutout bid late.

They play again tonight in Muskegon, Mich.
