Summit Academy welcomes deputy sheriffs

The sixth grade students of Summit Academy Elementary School in Youngstown recently hosted two officers from the Mahoning County Sheriff’s Department. The guests were the first this year to speak to the class during its “Focus on Careers.” Deputy sheriffs Damon Perry and William Bugzavich spoke about the D.A.R.E. program (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) and the importance of making wise decisions in life. They also shared the responsibilities of a deputy sheriff and the jurisdiction they cover. Pictured, standing, from left, are Suzanne Tkac, Celina Wolfe, Laurie Lamancusa, Perry and Doreen Duganne. In front is Bugzavich.
