Brookfield student wins gold medal in archery competition

Archery enthusiast Selina Jones, a seventh-grade student at Brookfield Middle School, competed in the FITA Ohio State Outdoor Championships last month. She led the competition for the Ohio State champion in her age class and had the highest score of all the competitors, with a 1401 out of 1440. In addition to her most recent gold medal, Jones also received a gold medal at the Double 900 competition in May. She attended the North Region championships in August, where she received a silver medal for individual competition, a silver medal for a team competition and a gold medal for being on the top-scoring regional team. The regional team is comprised of the top four shooters, which means Selina is one of the top four shooters in the state. Above, Jones wears her FITA Ohio State Outdoor Championships Medal.
