YSU falls to South Dakota on late field goal

— South Dakota's Ryan Weese kicked a 29-yard field with seven seconds to play to lift the Coyotes to a 31-28 win over Youngstown State in a Missouri Valley Football Conference matchup of top-10 teams Saturday.

YSU running back Tevin McCaster ran for 90 yards and four touchdowns on 22 carries. Penguins quarterback Nathan Mays was 12 of 25 for 153 yards.

YSU (3-2, 1-1 MVFC) trailed 21-14 at halftime and 28-14 in the second half before tying the game at 28 on McCaster's fourth and final TD late in the fourth quarter.

South Dakota QB Chris Streveler was 21 of 35 for 360 yards and three TDs. WR Shamar Jackson caught 11 passes for a school-record 229 yards for the Coyotes (5-0, 2-0).
