Friends of the Library hosting Canfield book sale

« Canfield Neighbors

Canfield Committee will host its annual Book Sale on Oct. 7 from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Canfield library. Proceeds of the sale are used to benefit the library.

The public is invited to donate books for the sale and to bring them Oct. 7 from 8-9 a.m. during the set-up time. Gently used, clean, quality books are appreciated; no encyclopedias, textbooks or outdated technical or medical books can be accepted. Donated books may only be dropped off early the day of the sale, as the library cannot accept or store donations.

Tickets also will be sold for the holiday tea, “Christmas at the White House with the First Ladies,” to be hosted by Friends of the Library - Canfield Committee at the Canfield library on Nov. 5 at 2 p.m. This fundraiser features a performance by the Salem Preservation Society portraying four former First Ladies discussing the holiday season during their time in residence. Tea sandwiches and sweets will be served with the tea, catered by A La Cart. Bringing your own favorite teacup is optional. The raffle includes tickets to an Ohio State football game, jewelry and other fabulous items. Tickets are $30 per person. Reservations and tickets are also available from the development office at 330-740-6086.

The Friends of the Library - Canfield Committee advocates for the Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County (PLYMC), and supports library programs and services in the community. It is a committee of the Friends of PLYMC, a county wide non-profit organization. New members are welcome.

The Canfield Committee meets on the second Wednesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. in the Canfield library.
