Holy Family Parish, 2729 Center Road, Poland, will host a cavatelli dinner from 2:30 to 6 p.m. or until sold out. Menu includes cavatelli with homemade sauce, two meatballs, tossed salad, bread and butter, and dessert. Cost is $10. Smaller portion of cavatelli and one meatball is $5. Fresh homemade pasta fagioli is $6 a quart and homemade pasta sauce is $5 a quart. Take out only. Place your order, remain in your car and your dinner will be delivered to you.


St. Jude Women's Guild, 180 Seventh St., Columbiana, is selling drive-through dinners from 4 to 6 p.m. (or until sold out) the first Thursday of each month. The menu will include stuffed peppers, homemade mashed potatoes, homemade applesauce, roll and butter and dessert. Cost is $8 and all proceeds go to “Rebuilding Together in Faith, Hope & Love” campaign to renovate and expand the church.

Western Reserve United Methodist Church will host a Swiss steak dinner from 4 p.m. until sold out. Cost is $9 for eat-in or drive through. Menu includes steak, mashed potatoes, gravy, corn, rolls and cake.


Canfield Lions Club will host a fish fry from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. at A La Cart Catering, 429 Lisbon St., Canfield. Meals include a choice of baked or fried fish; macaroni and cheese, haluski, pirogi or french fries; green beans or coleslaw; roll, dessert and beverage. The cost is $11.

Christ the Good Shepherd Parish, 633 Porter Ave., Campbell, will host pirogi sales every Friday. There are potato, kraut and prune pirogis for sale at $6 per dozen. Call 330-755-1316 to order from 8 a.m. to noon Thursday with pickup from noon to 1:30 p.m. Friday. No orders or walk-ins will be taken Friday.

Christ Our Savior Parish at Holy Trinity Church, 250 N. Bridge St., Struthers, will sell potato, cabbage and lekvar pirogi. The cost is $6 a dozen. There is a limit of three dozen cabbage pirogi while supplies last. Orders will be taken from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday and from 8 to 10 a.m. Friday at 330-755-0064. No walk-in orders will be accepted. Pickup will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday. Containers will be provided.

Holy Trinity Serbian Orthodox Church, 53 Laird Ave., Youngstown, will serve fish dinners from 3:30 to 7 p.m. at the church hall. The menu will consist of baked or fried Icelandic cod or fried haddock; sides of Spanish rice, haluski, macaroni and cheese, french fries or string beans (choose two); coleslaw or applesauce; bread and butter; and coffee or tea. The cost is $11 for adults and $6 for children. Dessert will be an additional $1.75. Containers will be provided for takeouts. Orders will be accepted from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at 330-792-1005.

St. Paul the Apostle Church, 10143 Main St. New Middletown, is beginning its pirogi sale. The cost is $6 per dozen. Potato, cabbage and cottage cheese pirogi are available. Phone orders will be taken on Thursday and Friday from 8 to 11 am. Call 330-542-3525 to order. Pick up will be from noon till 3 p.m. Friday.

St. Stanislaus Church, 430 Williamson Ave., Youngstown, is selling potato, kraut and cottage cheese pirogi. Advance orders will be taken at 330-747-3024 from 8 a.m. to noon Thursday and Friday. Pickup will be Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The cost is $6.50 per dozen. Pirogi lunches will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Walk-in orders are welcome.


Calvary United Methodist Church, 12062 South Ave., North Lima, will host a chicken barbecue from 3 to 6 p.m. Saturday . Dinner includes one-half chicken, baked potato, applesauce, green beans, roll, drink and pie. Cost is $9 for adults and $7 for children age 12 and under. Eat in or carry out. Aut Mori Grotto will host a “pigs in a blanket” (stuffed cabbage) dinner from noon to 4 p.m. at the Grotto Hall, 563 N. Belle Vista Ave., Youngstown. Menu includes “pigs,” mashed potatoes, homemade applesauce, bread and butter, dessert, coffee and non-alcoholic beverages. Cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children under 12. Boy Scout Troop 9022 will host a fall harvest pancake breakfast from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. at St. Christine Parish Center, 3165 S. Schenley Ave., Youngstown. Menu includes all-you-can-eat pancakes with various fruit toppings, scrambled eggs, sausage, milk, orange juice and coffee. Cost is $7 per person, and children under 6 are free. Takeout will be available. Tickets are available from any Troop 22 Scout or at the door the day of the event. Proceeds will help fund the Scouts in their various activities throughout the year.

Pacentrano Club, 2629 Craiger Ave., Youngstown, will serve spaghetti dinners from noon to 4 p.m. every Sunday during football season. The dinners are $8 each for sit-down or $9 each for takeout. For information or to place takeout orders, call 330-788-3393.


First United Methodist Church of Columbiana, 210 S. Main St., is hosting a drive-through ham dinner from 4 to 6 p.m. or until sold out. Holy Apostles Parish at Sts. Peter and Paul Croatian Church, 421 Covington St., Youngstown, is hosting a stuffed cabbage carry out sale. Cost is $25 per dozen, packaged fresh in foil pan and ready to reheat or freeze. Orders are due by Monday by calling Peggy at 330-746-6754. Pickup is from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Oct. 15 in the social hall.


Bessemer Presbyterian Church, 29 N. Main St., Bessemer, Pa., will host a ham loaf dinner from 5 to 7 p.m. Oct. 21. Proceeds benefit the church’s general fund. Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 3325 Morefield Road, Hermitage, Pa., behind the Hermitage Home Depot, will host a sit-down chicken dinner at 5 p.m. Oct. 14 in the fellowship hall. Proceeds will benefit the church and community projects of the Dorcas Society.

Kinsman Presbyterian Church, 6383 Church St., will host a roast beef dinner from noon to 2 p.m. Oct. 15. Sponsored by the men’s organization, proceeds will benefit missions projects. Tickets will be $8 and sold at the door. Children 12 and under are $4. For information, call 330-876-4485.

Knights of Columbus 3930 will host a Swiss steak dinner from noon to 6 p.m. Oct. 15 in the parish center, 4500 Norquest Blvd., Austintown. Dinners include Swiss steak, mashed potatoes and gravy, vegetable, salad, bread and butter, desserts and beverages. Cost is $8 for 5-ounce steak and $10 for 10-ounce steak. Smith Corners United Methodist Church, 3000 S. Canfield-Niles Road, Austintown, will host a free pancake, sausage and egg breakfast from 9 to 11 a.m. Oct. 14. Donations accepted. Proceeds go for World Service Projects. The church also will host a free supper from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Oct. 19. The Supper at the Corner is a community outreach and open to all each month. Donations are accepted to continue this program.

St. Brendan Church, 2800 Oakwood Ave., Youngstown, will host a sit down beef tips over noodle dinner from 11 a.m to 2 p.m. Oct. 22 in Maxwell Hall. Takeouts are available. Menu to include main entree, vegetable, salad, bread and butter, dessert and coffee. Cold beverages will be available for purchase. Cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children under 12. Proceeds used for church repairs.

St, Joseph the Provider School, St. Patrick Church, 225 N. Main St., Hubbard, will host a stuffed cabbage dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. Oct. 14. Dinner includes two stuffed cabbage rolls, mashed potatoes, green beans, salad, bread and butter and dessert. Cost is $10 per dinner, and available for purchase at the school office, 1125 Torin Ave., or at the door. Takeouts are available. Call St. Joseph the Provider School office at 330-259-0353. A Polka Mass will take place at 4 p.m. at the church. Jack Vasko Band will perform after Mass.

St. Nicholas Holy Name Society of Christ Our Savior Parish, 766 Fifth St., Struthers, will serve a chicken and rib dinner Saturday with baked potato, salad and desert included for $14. There are two options: order a half chicken and four ribs, or order a half slab of ribs. Take out or eat in the Great Hall. Advance ticket sales only.
