Alchemy Acres purchases castle-like facility for animals

SALEM

Alchemy Acres Animal Sanctuary recently acquired the facility that was envisioned when the nonprofit sanctuary was opened in 2004.

Founders of Alchemy Acres are the Sacco family; Steve, Julie, Katie and Emily. They work hand-in-hand with staff and volunteers to attend to the growing population of displaced pets with the mission of finding homes for them. Katie and Emily are certified Ohio wildlife rehabilitators, which allows them to aid and nurture injured wildlife until able to return to the native habitat.

The castle-like stone structure will serve as the Education Center where there will be information about small mammals, reptiles and birds. A veterinary clinic will be established in the future to offer full-time medical services to the surrounding communities, plus low-cost neutering and spaying operations.

To contribute to furthering this cause, mail donations to Alchemy Acres Animal Sanctuary at 1859 Depot Road, Salem, OH 44460. For information, call 330-332-4897 or visit www.alchemyacres.org.
