Phantoms’ win ties them with Chicago for first place

BLOOMINGTON, ILL.

Curtis Hall scored twice as the red-hot Youngstown Phantoms won their fourth consecutive game, defeating the Central Illinois Flying Aces 5-1 on Saturday at Grossinger Motors Arena.

Alex Barber, Mike Regush and Matthew Barry also scored goals.

The win moves the Phantoms (9-5-2-1, 21 points) into a first-place tie with the Chicago Steel.

Goaltender Wouter Peeters stopped 18 shots to earn the victory.

Hall’s first goal, set up by Tommy Parrottino and Max Ellis gave the Phantoms an early lead.

After the Aces’ Jeremy Davidson tied the game, Barber’s first goal of the season put the Phantoms ahead for keeps.

Parrottino also assisted on Hall’s second goal scored early in the second period that came on the power play.

Regush’s goal also was scored with a man-advantage.
