Former contestant speaks about being role model

Leah Darrow, international speaker and author addressing such topics as authentic love, the virtue of chastity and God’s mercy in our lives, spoke to teens and adults Oct. 29 at the Basilica of Our Lady of Mount Carmel. Darrow was a contestant on the reality show “America’s Next Top Model” and realized that she was living a life of emptiness and broken promises. Her talk, “From Top Model to Role Model,” addressed the meaning of authentic love and God’s mercy in her life. Her book, “The Other Side of Beauty,” will be released this month. Darrow’s appearance was sponsored by the pro-life group, Men and Women United for Life. Above, Darrow, center, is shown with Kent State Newman Center students, Anna Bright, left, and Samantha Williams. For information, contact Judy Welsh at 330-718-7746.
