Fitch Seniors Rachael DiFrancesco, Erica DiFrancesco, Moriah Berni, Brooke Bailey and Makaela Giannini coordinated efforts with K9’s for Compassion recently in order to bring therapy dogs to Austintown Fitch High School. Bringing in the K9s was part of the students’ senior service project.

“While reading Mitch Albom’s ‘Tuesdays with Morrie,’ I challenged the students to give back in some way. They decided to organize this event with K9’s for Compassion to help alleviate stress and anxiety for their peers by providing them with the opportunity to play with therapy dogs during the school day,” said senior English teacher Cindy McCutcheon.

For a $1 donation, all students and staff were welcome to pet and play with the dogs.

All money raised will benefit K9s for Compassion.
