‘Magical Thinking’ at Selah

“The Year of Magical Thinking,” a play based on the memoir of author Joan Didion, will open next Thursday at Selah Dessert Theatre. Based on the New York Times best-seller of the same name, the play explores a two-year period during which Didion lost both her husband and only daughter. Veteran regional actor Molly Galano stars in the one-woman play. “Although the piece deals with grief, it is not morose,” said Mary Ruth Lynn, director. “There is exquisite imagery, humor and the reassurance that we are not alone in our human experiences.” Performances will be at 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 10, 11, 17 and 18 at the theater, which is on the second floor of Selah Restaurant, 130 S. Bridge St., Struthers. Tickets are $17.50 and include dessert and coffee at intermission. A special Premier Night package (dinner and show) is available opening night only. Go to selahrestaurant.com or call 800-838-3006. Pre-show dinner reservations for all other performances can be made by calling 330-755-2759.
