FOOD SALES AND DINNERS

THURSDAY

Smith Corners United Methodist Church, 3000 S. Canfield-Niles Road (corner of Kirk Road and Route 46), Austintown, will serve Supper at the Corner from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Donations will be accepted to continue the program.

Woodworth Church of the Brethren, 30 E. Western Reserve Road, Boardman, at the corner of Market Street and Western Reserve, will host a beef tips and noodles takeout dinner from 2:30 to 6 p.m. or until sold out. Dinner is $8 and consists of Angus beef tips, homestyle noodles, corn, roll with butter and a homemade cookie. Drive to the back door to place your order; it will be delivered to your car. FRIDAY

Christ Our Savior Parish at Holy Trinity Church, 250 Bridge St., Struthers, will sell potato, cabbage and lekvar pirogi. The cost is $6 a dozen. There is a limit of three dozen cabbage pirogi while supplies last. Orders will be taken from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday and from 8 to 10 a.m. Friday at 330-755-0064. No walk-in orders will be accepted. Pickup will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday. Containers will be provided. Last sale will be May 26 until after Labor Day.

Christ the Good Shepherd at St. Joseph the Provider Church, 633 Porter Ave., Campbell, will sell potato, prune and kraut pirogi. The cost is $6 a dozen. Orders may be made from 8 to 11 a.m. Thursday and beginning at 7 a.m. Friday at 330-755-1316. Orders can be picked up from noon to 2 p.m. May 26 will be the last sale of the season.

Holy Trinity Serbian Orthodox Church, 53 Laird Ave., Youngstown, will serve fish dinners from 3:30 to 7 p.m. at the church hall. The menu will consist of baked or fried Icelandic cod or fried haddock; sides of Spanish rice, haluski, macaroni and cheese, french fries or string beans (choose two); coleslaw or applesauce; bread and butter; and coffee or tea. The cost is $11 for adults and $6 for children. Dessert will be an additional $1.75. Containers will be provided for takeouts. Orders will be accepted from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at 330-792-1005.

Holy Trinity Ukrainian Catholic Church, 526 W. Rayen Ave., Youngstown, will take orders for potato and potato with kraut pirogi for $6 per dozen. No containers are necessary. Orders should be placed from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Thursday and from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Friday at 330-746-9528 or 330-744-5820 and are to be picked up between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Friday at the church hall. Hot lunches will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. This will be the last sale until September.

St. Anne Ukrainian Catholic Church, 4310 Kirk Road, Austintown, will sell potato and cheese pirogi. To order call 330-799-0084 from 8:30 a.m. to noon Thursday and from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday. Pickup will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday. Cost is $7 for a baker’s dozen; no containers necessary. Walk-ins welcome. Use the side entrance. This is the last sale of the season. Sales will resume in October.

St. Paul the Apostle Church, 10143 Main St., New Middletown, will sell potato, sweet cabbage and cottage cheese pirogi for $5.75 a dozen. Cabbage pirogi orders are limited to three dozen per customer. Orders can be called to 330-542-3525 from 8 to 11 a.m. Thursday and Friday. Pickup will be from noon to 3 p.m. Friday. Walk-ins are welcome. This is the last sale of the season.

St. Stanislaus Church, 430 Williamson Ave., Youngstown, will sell potato, kraut and cottage cheese pirogi. Advance orders will be taken at 330-747-3024 from 8 a.m. to noon Thursday and Friday. Pickup will be from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The cost is $6.50 per dozen. Pirogi lunches will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Walk-in orders are welcome.

SATURDAY

Calvary United Methodist Church, 12062 South Ave., North Lima, will have a chicken barbecue from 3 to 6 p.m. The dinner includes baked potato, applesauce, green beans, roll, beverage and pie. The cost is $9 for adults and $7 for children 12 and under. Eat in or carry out. Call 330-549-2588 for information.

Cortland United Methodist Church, 155 N. High St., will have its 18th annual Kentucky Mountain Dinner from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. The cost is $9 for adults and $5.50 for children 3 through 12. Kids under 3 eat for free. The menu consists of sweet potato casserole, honey baked ham, Kentucky corn bread, creamed chicken on a biscuit, green beans, bean soup, cobbler or derby pie and beverage. Proceeds benefit the mission trip to Red Bird Mission in Kentucky.

Lockwood United Methodist Church S.O.A.R. Team is hosting a free community dinner from 4 to 5:30 p.m. at the church, 4570 Lockwood Blvd., Boardman. The menu consists of ham slice with pineapple sauce, scalloped potatoes, salad, rolls, cake and beverages.

Poland United Methodist Church, 1940 Boardman-Poland Road, will have a drive-through grilled hot dog sale from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. to raise funds for a children’s carnival. Drive up to front doors to order, and food will be delivered to your car. The cost is $4 for a combo meal with two hot dogs, chips and a drink and $3.50 for a kids meal with one hot dog, chips, a drink and a cookie. Additional hot dogs may be purchased for 75 cents. SUNDAY

Knights of Columbus, Council 13466, will host an all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Christ the Good Shepherd Parish, 633 Porter Ave., Campbell, to benefit the activities of the council. There will be a 50-50 raffle and a basket auction. Tickets are $6 for adults and $3 for children 4 to 10 and are available at the door. For tickets or information, call Tom at 330-755-4948.

VFW Post 2799, 3161 E. South Range Road, New Springfield, will serve a homestyle breakfast sponsored by the Ladies Auxiliary from 8 a.m. to noon. Tickets are $6 for adults and $3.50 for children under 12. The menu consists of eggs, hash browns, sausage or ham, pancakes or freedom toast, toast and coffee or tea.

TUESDAY

Sts. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Orthodox Church, 1025 N. Belle Vista Ave., Youngstown, will sponsor a free neighborhood community dinner from 4:30 to 7 p.m. All are welcome.

TAKING ORDERS

Simon Road Church of God, 4750 Simon Road, Boardman, will sell nut and apricot kolachi for $9 each. Order by calling Ronnie at 330-758-7447, Linda at 330-758-5108 or Wendy at 330-519-0132. Pickup will be from 2 to 3 p.m. June 1.

Sts. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Orthodox Center, 1025 N. Belle Vista Ave., Youngstown, is selling pirogi for $7 per dozen. To order call 330-707-6364. Pickup will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday. Proceeds will be used to sponsor orphanages in Ukraine.

UPCOMING

West Austintown United Methodist Church, 6749 Mahoning Ave., will host a free community dinner from 5 to 7 p.m. May 24. Sloppy joes and barbecue chicken will be served.
