EOS is a leading original equipment manufacturer in the industrial additive manufacturing space.

America Makes, the first additive manufacturing hub created by former President Barack Obama’s administration, is in downtown Youngstown.

Free rental, pizza

YOUNGSTOWN

Throughout the month of June, students from kindergarten through college can receive a free movie or game rental at Family Video for each final “A” grade or equivalent mark they achieve in a core subject on their year-end report card. The company expects to give away more than 1 million movie and game rentals this summer. Additionally, all Family Video affiliated Marco’s Pizza locations will give the “A” student a small 1 topping pizza; one per student.

New lecture series

LIBERTY

SCORE Youngstown has started a new business lecture series called “From Bagels to Business.”

Entrepreneurs will be offered Kravitz bagels and coffee while learning about current information designed to support small-business success.

Mark Cole of Mark Cole Insurance Agency will launch this series with “Effective Networking for Leaders,” from 9 to 10:30 a.m. May 22 at Kravitz Deli, 3135 Belmont Ave. in Liberty.

Cole serves as a Score mentor, current chairman of the Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber’s Ambassador to the Community Committee and is active in many local organizations.

VAST luncheon

WARREN

The Valley Alliance for Science and Technology, VAST, will have a luncheon featuring Jay Douglas, chief operating officer of the ARM Institute at Carnegie Mellon University, from noon to 1:15 p.m. Friday . The event will take place at the Tech Belt Energy Innovation Center, 125 W. Market St.

Douglas will present “The Advanced Robotics for Manufacturing Institute, a program for restoring U.S. manufacturing competitiveness.”

The Mahoning Valley Young Professionals will have a mixer at The Avalon Inn, 9519 E. Market Inn at 5:30 p.m. Thursday .Members get in for free and non-members pay $5.
