FOOD SALES AND DINNERS

TODAY

Canfield Christian Church, 123 S. Broad St., will offer breakfast from 6:30 to 9:30 a.m. Meals are free and donations are accepted. A Bible study will take place at 9 a.m.

Kinsman United Methodist Church, 8362 Main St., will have a chicken and biscuit dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. Tickets are $8 for adults, $4 for children 4 to 12 and free for 3 and under. Takeout will be available by calling 330-876-5641. The church is handicap accessible.

Martin Luther Lutheran Church, 420 Clearmount Drive, Youngstown, is offering a soup luncheon after the noon Lenten services each Wednesday. This week the menu includes ham and bean soup, bread, beverage and homemade dessert. Donations will be accepted. Quarts of soup to take home will be $6.

THURSDAY

Smith Corners United Methodist Church, 3000 S. Canfield-Niles Road (corner of Kirk Road and Route 46), Austintown, will serve Supper at the Corner from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Donations will be accepted to continue the program.

Woodworth Church of the Brethren, 30 E. Western Reserve Road, Poland, at the corner of Market Street and Western Reserve, will host a beef tips and noodles takeout dinner from 2:30 to 6 p.m. or until sold out. Dinner is $8 and includes Angus beef tips, homestyle noodles, corn, roll with butter and a homemade cookie. Drive to the back door to place your order; it will be taken to your car. FRIDAY

Archangel Michael Parish Center, 401 12th St., Campbell, will host dine-in and takeout fish and shrimp dinners from 11:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Dinners will be $12. Various baked goods will be available. To order call 330-755-9072.

American Legion Post 737, 16465 Milton Ave., Lake Milton, will host a dinner from 3 to 7 p.m. The meal comprises Haddock, chicken or shrimp, fries, coleslaw and a roll for $10, children’s portion $5. Pirogies are $4.50. Carryout or eat-in. Beverages will be available. Call 330-654-5630.

Basilica and National Shrine of Our Lady of Lebanon, 2759 N. Lipkey Road, North Jackson, will serve fish dinners from 4 to 7 p.m. The menu consists of baked or fried fish or 21 shrimp, haluski, homemade soup, coleslaw, bread and butter, dessert and a beverage. Christ Our Savior Parish at Holy Trinity Church, 250 Bridge St., Struthers, will sell potato, cabbage and lekvar pirogi. The cost is $6 a dozen. There is a limit of three dozen cabbage pirogi while supplies last. Orders will be taken from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday and from 8 to 10 a.m. Friday at 330-755-0064. No walk-in orders will be accepted. Pickup will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday. Containers will be provided. There will be no pirogi orders April 14.

Christ the Good Shepherd at St. Joseph the Provider Church, 633 Porter Ave., Campbell, will sell potato, prune and kraut pirogi. The cost is $6 a dozen. Phone orders may be made from 8 to 11 a.m. Thursday and beginning at 7 a.m. Friday at 330-755-1316. Orders can be picked up from noon to 2 p.m.

Girard Knights of Columbus Council 2935, 122 S. State St., Girard, will host a fish dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. Meals are $9 for adults and $4.50 for children 4 to 12, under 4 eats for free. The menu consists of baked or fried fish, french fries, macaroni and cheese or haluski, coleslaw, bread, coffee and cake. Soda and water will be $1. Takeout is available. Holy Apostles Parish at Sts. Peter and Paul Croatian Church, 421 Covington St., Youngstown, will provide fish dinners during Lent. The cost is $10 for adults and includes a 10-ounce Haddock fillet, coleslaw, coffee, tea, lemonade, iced tea, water and dessert with the choice of a side of french fries, haluski or macaroni and cheese. Dinners for 10 and under are $5 for a 5-ounce fillet dinner. Takeout is available. For information call 330-743-1905.

Holy Trinity Serbian Orthodox Church, 53 Laird Ave., Youngstown, will serve fish dinners from 3:30 to 7 p.m. at the church hall. The menu will consist of baked or fried Icelandic cod or fried haddock; sides of Spanish rice, haluski, macaroni and cheese, french fries or string beans (choose two); coleslaw or applesauce; bread and butter; and coffee or tea. The cost is $11 for adults and $6 for children. Dessert will be an additional $1.75. Containers will be provided for takeouts. Orders will be accepted from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at 330-792-1005.

Holy Trinity Ukrainian Catholic Church, 526 W. Rayen Ave., will take orders for potato and potato with kraut pirogi for $6 per dozen. No containers are necessary. Orders should be placed from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Thursday and from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Friday at 330-746-9528 and are to be picked up between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Friday at the church hall. Hot lunches will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish Center, 4500 Norquest Blvd., Austintown, will serve fish dinners from 4 to 7 p.m. They will include baked or fried fish or shrimp, coleslaw and two sides, dessert and beverage. A pizza/pasta bar is included with all dine-in dinners. The cost is $11 for adults and $6 for children. Carryouts will be available.

St. Anne Ukrainian Catholic Church, 4310 Kirk Road, Austintown, will sell potato and cheese pirogi. To order call 330-799-0084 from 8:30 a.m. to noon Thursday and from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday. Pickup will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday. Cost is $7 for a baker’s dozen (no containers necessary). Walk-ins welcome. Use the side entrance.

St. Brendan Parish will sell fish dinners from 4 to 7 p.m. for $11 at Maxwell Hall, 144 N. Schenley Ave., Youngstown. The menu comprises baked, fried, cajun or beer-battered fish with the choice of macaroni and cheese, seasoned french fries, parsley potatoes, or haluski as a side. Dinner also includes bread, cake, coffee or tea, and coleslaw or applesauce. Cold beverages will be extra. Meals for children are $6, extra sides $3, and piece of fish $5. A lunch special will be available from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and includes a sandwich and one side for $7. Takeout is available by calling 330-799-3683.

St. Maron Church, 1555 S. Meridian Road, Youngstown, will serve fish dinners from 3 to 7 p.m. for $10. The dinner includes choice of fish, one side, coleslaw, roll, coffee or tea and dessert. Sides include macaroni and cheese, pirogies, french fries, lentils or rice with carmelized onions. Shrimp scampi or grilled yellow fin tuna will be $14 each. Baked haddock with scampi sauce is $13. A la cart items available are Lebanese cheese, $3; smelts, $5; and pop or water, $1 each. Takeout or call ahead, 330-792-2371.

St. Paul the Apostle Church, 10143 Main St., New Middletown, will sell potato, sweet cabbage and cottage cheese pirogi for $5.75 a dozen. Cabbage pirogi orders are limited to three dozen per customer. Orders can be called to 330-542-3525 from 8 to 11 a.m. Thursday and Friday. Pickup will be from noon to 3 p.m. Friday. Walk-ins are welcome.

St. Stanislaus Church, 430 Williamson Ave., Youngstown, sells potato, kraut and cottage cheese pirogi. Advance orders will be taken at 330-747-3024 from 8 a.m. to noon Thursday and Friday. Pickup will be from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The cost is $6.50 per dozen. Pirogi lunches will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Walk-in orders are welcome.

St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 4453 Warren-Sharon Road, Vienna, will serve fish dinners from 3:30 to 7 p.m. The menu comprises baked or fried white fish, pirogi, parsley potatoes, coleslaw, applesauce, bread, beverage and dessert. Take-outs are available beginning at 3. Adult meals are $10 and children under 12, $5; under 4 eats free.

Valley Christian Schools, 4401 Southern Blvd., Youngstown, will sell takeout fish dinners from 3 to 6 p.m. The menu consists of baked Italian or fried fish with coleslaw or applesauce, bread and butter, dessert, and a side of macaroni and cheese, haluski, or pirogies. No beverages will be available. Adult meals cost $10 and under 10, $6. Proceeds will go to Valley Christian Schools athletics. For information call 330-788-8088.

VFW Post 9571, 11397 Ellsworth Road, Ellsworth, will host an all-you-can-eat fried fish dinner from 4:30 to 7 p.m. The meal includes french fries, macaroni and cheese, coleslaw and applesauce. Four-piece chicken, chicken fingers or shrimp dinners also are available. Cost is $9. A chicken fingers dinner or fish dinner for seniors is $8.50, and a fish dinner for children under 10 is $5.50. The meals are offered the first and third Fridays of each month.

SATURDAY

Cortland United Methodist Church, 155 N. High St., will serve corned beef with cabbage and roast beef dinner from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. The cost is $10 per person. The menu includes potatoes, green beans, dessert and beverage. Eat in or carryout. Call 330-637-2571.

Lockwood United Methodist Church S.O.A.R. Team is hosting a free community dinner from 4 to 5:30 p.m. at the church, 4570 Lockwood Blvd., Boardman. The menu consists of creamed chicken and biscuits, salad, fruit cocktail, cake and beverages.

SUNDAY

Boy Scout Troop 119 is hosting an all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast and bake sale from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at St. Paul the Apostle Church Hall, 10143 Main St., New Middletown. The menu includes potatoes, scrambled eggs, sausage and bacon, cinnamon rolls, toast and butter, coffee, tea, hot cocoa, milk and juice. There will be a raffle for a $1,000 Visa card. Fowler Fire Department, 3386 Youngstown Kingsville Road, Cortland, will host its monthly pancake, sausage and egg breakfast from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The cost is $7 for adults, $6 for seniors, $5 for children. Preschool-aged children eat free.

Jackson Township Fire Dept. and Auxiliary will host an all-you-can-eat pancake and sausage breakfast from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Jackson Township Administration Building, 10613 Mahoning Ave., North Jackson. There will be a basket and 50-50 raffle. Carryout will be available.

Southington American Legion Post will serve an all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the legion home, 3145 Warren Burton Road. Adult meals are $7, $4 for under 12, and under 4 eats free. Sausage is included or biscuits and gravy also are offered.

VFW Post 2799, 3161 E. South Range Road, New Springfield, will serve a homestyle breakfast sponsored by the Ladies Auxiliary from 8 a.m. to noon. Tickets are $6 for adults and $3.50 for children under 12. The menu consists of eggs, hash browns, sausage or ham, pancakes or freedom toast, toast and coffee or tea.

TAKING ORDERS

St. Anne Ukrainian Byzantine Church, 4310 Kirk Road, Austintown, is taking orders for Easter kolachi for $12 each. Select from nut, nut and raisin, apricot or poppyseed. Pickup orders from 5 to 6 p.m. April 1. Last day to order is March 25. Plain Easter bread or with raisins also is for sale for $8 each. Last day to order is April 1, and pickup will be from 5 to 6 p.m. April 8. Call or text Diane at 330-360-9782, leave a message with your phone number and order. Confirmations will be returned.

Holy Apostles Parish, St. Stephen of Hungary and Sts. Peter and Paul Croatian churches are hosting an ethnic Easter kielbasi and Italian sausage sale. Croatian, Hungarian, Polish, Slovakian and Italian sausage will be available for $7 per pound. To order, call Nancy Vogrin at 330-758-4355 by March 31 for pickup from 2 to 6 p.m. April 10 at Sts. Peter and Paul Church, 4212 Covington St., Youngstown.

Queen of the Holy Rosary Parish, 291 Scoville Drive, Vienna, will sell homemade potato pirogi for $6 a dozen. Order between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Monday through Friday at 330-856-4204 through April 3. Pickup will be from noon to 3 p.m. April 7.

Simon Road Church of God, 4750 Simon Road, Boardman, is selling nut, prune, apricot and poppyseed kolachi for Easter for $9 each. Order by calling Ronni at 330-758-7447, Linda at 330-758-5108 or Wendy at 330-510-0132. Pickup will be 5 to 6 p.m. April 6.

St. Mary Byzantine Catholic Church, 356 S. Belle Vista, Youngstown, is taking orders for pasta fagioli for $6 per quart. Pickup will be noon to 3 p.m. March 24. Call 330-792-1578.

St. John the Baptist Orthodox Church, 301 Struthers-Liberty Road, Campbell, will host a Russian Easterfest from noon to 3 p.m. April 1. For sale will be kolachi, paska bread, butter molds, horseradish, kielbasi and bacon. Ethnic foods will be available for takeout.
