SLIPPERY ROCK, PA.

Discover how sap taken from a maple tree becomes syrup on the breakfast table at Jennings Environmental Education Center, 2951 Prospect Road, at 2 p.m. next Sunday. This is the center’s annual free program. Registration is not required, but come on time to get a seat.

College affiliation

GREENVILLE, PA.

Graduates of Pittsburgh Technical College and Thiel College students in their junior or senior years can benefit from an affiliate agreement entered into by the two colleges. Pittsburgh Technical College graduates can articulate into bachelor’s programs that Thiel College offers. Both colleges have agreed to accept all transfer applicable credits from the other institution, providing a C grade or better is achieved. The affiliation takes effect immediately.

Cemetery cleanup

LOWELLVILLE

St. John the Baptist Cemetery, 3900 Villa Marie Road, will have its spring cleanup March 23. The cleanup will include Christmas and other decorations that do not comply with rules and regulations. Decorations not removed before that date will be discarded.

Road closing

BRACEVILLE

Shihola Garrard Road, between Newton Falls-Braceville Robinson Road and Barclay Messerly Road, will be closed Wednesday through April 12 for culvert replacement, the Trumbull County Engineer announced. The recommended detour route is north on Newton Falls-Braceville Robinson Road, east on Helsley Fusselman Road and south on Barclay Messerly.
