The Raymond John Wean Foundation announced Feb. 23 that it awarded $98,988 to 30 local organizations that seek to improve neighborhoods and communities.
The grants are part of the foundation’s Neighborhood SUCCESS, which supports resident-led community development. SUCCESS provides annual grants from $500 to $5,000 to such projects.
To apply for a grant, organizations must attend orientation, technical assistance workshops and interviews through the foundation. Grant amounts must be matched with the amount of volunteer labor, cash and in-kind donations to the project. Funding decisions are made by a council of Warren and Youngstown residents.
