Networking mixer

The Youngstown Business Incubator Women In Entrepreneurship program will have a “Women in Business” networking mixer from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. July 17 at The Soap Gallery, 117 S. Champion St.

The event, which includes appetizers and wine, costs $5 with the proceeds going to the WE Program.

Safety council seminar

The Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber’s Mahoning Valley Safety Council will have a “First Responder and Private Industry” seminar from 11:15 a.m. to 1 p.m. July 12 at The Georgetown, 5945 South Ave.

Nick Zamiska, career fire lieutenant and HazMat team director, for the first safety program of the new fiscal year.

The cost is $25 for members and $35 for non-members.

ADA scholarships

CLEVELAND

The Greater Cleveland Automobile Dealers’ Association, through its Auto Dealers’ Educational Assistance Foundation, has awarded $150,000 in individual scholarships to dealership employees or their dependents as well as a total of $32,500 to support post-secondary automotive technology programs at three colleges.

The association represents more than 250 franchised motor vehicle dealers, which include new-car, truck, motorcycle and RV dealers in a 21-county region of Northern Ohio.

Hiring at McDonald’s

With summer around the corner, McDonald’s and its independent franchisees plan to hire about 250,000 restaurant employees across the U.S. McDonald’s restaurants in Ohio hope to hire more than 12,000 restaurant employees between the months of June and August.

To aid in hiring efforts, McDonald’s is leading the way with a modern approach to recruiting – Snapchat. ‘Snaplications,’ a term coined by McDonald’s, is a first-to-market hiring tool in the U.S. that allows job seekers to be served an ad and opportunity to begin the application process for a job at a McDonald’s restaurant through the Snapchat app.

In addition to the Snapchat partnership, job-seekers in Ohio can also visit McDonalds.com/careers to learn more and to apply.
