Game 2: Warriors 132, Cavaliers 113 (final)
OAKLAND, CALIF. The Cavaliers have been here before. For the second year in a row, they're down 2-0 in the NBA Finals to the Golden State Warriors.
Kevin Durant scored 33 points and Steph Curry added 32 — including a 14-for-14 effort at the foul line — to power Golden State to a 132-113 rout of Cleveland in Game 2 tonight at Oracle Arena.
The Warriors also won the first two games in Oakland tp start last season's finals, but the Cavaliers took Game 3 in Cleveland and eventually rallied from a 3-1 deficit to win the NBA Finals.
It's going to take another rally for that to happen again.
LeBron James led the Cavaliers with 29 points, 14 assists and 11 rebounds. Kevin Love added 27 points and Kyrie Irving had 19, but Cleveland was unable to slow Golden State's prolific offense.
Game 3 is Wednesday in Cleveland.
After three quarters:
The Warriors pulled away again, outscoring the Cavaliers 35-24 in the third quarter to take a 102-88 lead into the fourth quarter in Game 2 of the NBA Finals.
Steph Curry has 27 points, including a 14-for-14 effort at the foul line, and Kevin Durant has 24 points for Golden State.
LeBron James leads the Cavs with a triple-double of 27 points, 12 assists and 10 rebounds and Kevin Love has 24 points.
LeBron James scored 18 points and had 10 assists and six rebounds in the first half, but rhe Cavaliers trail the Golden State Warriors 67-64 at intermission tonight in Game 2 of the NBA Finals.
Kevin Love added 15 points and Kyrie Irving had 10.
Kevin Durant and Steph Curry each had 15 points for the Warriors.
End first quarter:
The Cavaliers got off to a better start in Game 2 of the NBA Finals tonight, but still trail the Golden State Warriors 40-34 after one quarter.
Cleveland led early, but Golden State recovered and led by as many as 10 halfway through the opening period.
LeBron James scored 10 and Kevin Love added nine in the first quarter for the Cavaliers.
