Austintown library hosted a “Diary of a Wimpy Kid” program on May 13 in honor of the new movie release.

Austintown librarian Nikki Puhalla organized the program so that children can participate in fun activities that relate to the movies and books. The goal for the guests who attended the event was to make mom bucks. At each station when the children completed an activity, they would earn a mom buck and at the end they would turn the mom bucks in and receive a special prize.

There was a trivia station where children would fill out a trivia sheet and whoever got the most answers correct would win the book “Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Long Haul.” Other stations included a cheese toss, where children would toss bean bags into a target, a toilet paper wrapping station, a learn to draw station and several others.

“Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Long Haul” was released on May 19 and has encouraged children to read the books and watch the movies again.

Hosting a “Diary of a Wimpy Kid” program gave the children the opportunity to have fun and familiarize themselves with the movies and books before the new one came out.
