City police investigate pair of recent shootings

YOUNGSTOWN — Police are investigating two incidents of gunfire early Tuesday and late Monday.

About 3 a.m. Tuesday, a 21-year-old woman told police she was arguing on the front porch of a home in the 500 block of East Judson Avenue with her boyfriend when two cars pulled in front of her home and the people inside them fired several shots.

The woman and her boyfriend and another person ran to the back of the house, reports said. Reports said officers found several spent shell casings and live rounds in front of the home. Two children inside the home, ages 3 and 4, were not hurt.

About 10:35 p.m. Wednesday, police were called to a home in the 900 block of East Dewey Avenue, where a 24-year-old woman there told officers she threw hot water on a woman she did not want in her home. The unwanted woman then threw bleach on the victim, ran outside, fired a shot in the air, then left, reports said.

Reports said the victim was treated by paramedics for the bleach that was thrown in her face.
