Author’s 13th book, ‘Corinn,’ is available


Judy Lennington of East Palestine has written her 13th novel, “Corinn,” the story of a young lady called to protect a princess and newborn heir to the throne at a time in her life when she is becoming a young lady and falling in love. Her fictional story about the Spread Eagle Tavern and Inn in Hanoverton, “The Innkeeper,” also will be available.

Local author releases fourth published book


Robert W. Greier Jr. recently released his novella “Wyvern” with Nook Press, a subsidiary of Barnes & Noble. The e-book for “Wyvern” is $2.99 and the paperback is $9. Both can be purchased from the Barnes & Noble website,

The novella is the story of a cancer victim, Clevis Pladstock, who decides to write a series of memoirs and confessions of his childhood in the Wyvern Group Home for Boys.

Greier was inspired to write the novella from working in a group home for boys. He demonstrates not only the broken system that tries to take care of the children, but also the unusual relationships between the boys and the staff.

Greier graduated from Kent State University in 2005 and has published “The Disappearance of Uncle Ned,” “Five Shorts” and “Hallowing Wings.”

Monday Night Writers will meet Jan. 23


The next meeting for Monday Night Writers is scheduled for 6 to 8 p.m. Jan. 23 at The Public Library of Youngstown & Mahoning County, 43 W. Main St., Canfield. The meeting is open to all writers, published and nonpublished, and will be led by Nancy Christie, author of “Traveling Left of Center and Other Stories.” The two-hour meetings are an opportunity for members to discuss and receive feedback on their projects.
