Freeze a snowball for admission deal

PITTSBURGH

There’s snow in the forecast, so it’s a good time to get ready for Carnegie Science Center’s annual Snowball Day by making a snowball and saving it in a freezer until spring.

All visitors who bring a snowball to the center on the first day of summer, Wednesday, June 21, will be able to choose what they pay for a general admission ticket that day. They will be able to launch their snowballs into the Ohio River (weather permitting).

Snowball Day began at the center in 2006. Since then, hundreds of snowballs have been brought to the center in coolers, freezer bags, frosty coffee cans and plastic storage containers.
