Students become ‘mad scientists’ for a day

The Transitional Kindergarten students at the Early Childhood Learning Center at St. Luke, Boardman, recently participated in “Mad Scientist Day.” All students wore safety goggles and lab coats and circulated through hands-on science stations. Above, from left, Lucy Booms and Sawyer Simerlink measure and make explosions. Below, Carter Olmi uses “special potions” (vinegar) to dissolve mystery items, and at bottom, Zack Schorsten uses eye droppers and food coloring to see how the color absorbs. Their teacher is Shelley Sikich.
