Trumbull County announces five road-paving projects for 2018

Staff report

The Trumbull County Engineer’s Office has announced five road paving projects that it will carry out in the second half of 2018 or the spring of 2019.

The projects in the annual road improvement program involve paving and in some cases improvements to several inches or full depth of the road base, said Gary Shaffer, deputy Trumbull County engineer.

The amount of next year’s program is $1,519,853 – the largest amount in at least the past eight years, Shaffer said.

The county will award the paving contract to private companies, but it will handle other aspects of the project itself, such as brush and tree-trimming and drainage improvements.

The project areas are:

Logan Way in Liberty Township from state Route 304 north to Warner Road.

Ridge Road in Vienna Township from King Graves Road south 3,568 feet (0.68 miles).

Niles Warren River Road in Weathersfield Township from Deforest Road south to the Niles limits.

South Canal Street in Newton Township from Bright Baldwin Road north to the Newton Falls limits.

Shannon Road in Liberty Township from the Girard limits north to Tibbetts-Wick Road.
