Submit information for holiday services
The Vindicator will publish a listing of area services open to the public in observance of Christmas Eve and Christmas Day and New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.
The list of Christmas Eve and Christmas Day services will run Dec. 16 on the Religion page. The list of New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day services will run Dec. 23 on the Religion page.
The deadline to submit information is noon Dec. 12.
Information should include the denomination and name of the church, address, city or suburb and time of Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve or New Year’s Day services. The information should be accompanied by a name and a phone number for verification or any questions.

Presenting Advent Procession
St. Columba Cathedral, 154 W. Wood St., will present its annual Advent Procession of Lessons and Carols at 7 p.m. Sunday. The service will feature the Cathedral Choir under the direction of Daniel Laginya, the cathedral lectors coordinated by Laura Elder and students of the parish led by Sister Martha Reed, O.S.U.
The program is based on the ancient traditional “O Antiphons” and culminated with the Annunciation narrative.
The event is free and open to the public. Security and ample free parking will be provided. A reception will follow in St. Columba Parish Hall.
Irish ensemble Danu to perform
GROVE CITY, PA.
Tickets are on sale to see the acclaimed Irish ensemble Danu celebrate Christmas at 7:30 p.m. Monday at Grove City College Ketler Auditorium, 100 Crampus Drive.

Replica of Ark of the Covenant
The public is invited to attend and experience praise and worship in the midst of a full-size replica of the Ark of the Covenant of God as King David worshipped. The event will take place from 3 to 5 p.m. today at Joshua’s Haven City Mission, 1230 Stambaugh Ave.
There will be Davidic Teaching by Rev. Marion C. Masters, director and worship accompanied by Shofats, King David 10 string biblical harp, Kingdom Flags and Banners, dancers, singers and psalmists. For information, call Joshua’s Haven at 724-983-0304.
Joint Hanukkah celebration
Congregation Rodef Sholom, 1119 Elm St., will host a communitywide joint Hanukkah celebration with all area Temples at 5:30 p.m. Dec. 10.
The event will include a gourmet salad bar and latkes, a performance by the MSJS students and other entertainment, a children’s program led by God and Shai Erez, World Series of Dreidel and other games. Hanukkah Happening for Kids
Temple El Emeth, 3970 Logan Way, will host Hanukkah Happening for Kids from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Dec. 11.
The event will include Hanukkah singing with Tirtza Kohan, painting Hanukkah panels, making Hanukkah jewelry with Lori Szoke, crafts for all ages and latkes and cookies for all. RSVP to El Emeth before Thursday by calling 330-759-1429.
Group presents speaker
First Friday Club Speaker’s Luncheon Series presents Diana Hayes at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at the Georgetown, 5945 South Ave. Hayes has a juris doctor, a doctorate in religious studies and a doctorate in sacred theology and is the first African-American woman to earn a pontifical doctorate in theology. The cost to attend is $16.

Helping kids through holidays
Zion Lutheran Church, 3300 Canfield Road, will host Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes’ Stepping Stones Through the Holidays from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. next Saturday.
Children and teens from 6 to 16 years old are invited to join and share ideas and feelings relating to the holidays when a loved one has died.
The event will include Memory Ornaments, discussion and sharing, Healing Stones, a balloon release, memory chains, family tree and more. Snacks and lunch will be provided.

‘Song of Christmas’
“The Song of Christmas” annual Christmas program at The First Congregational Church of Wayne, 3222 U.S. Route 322, will be at 6 p.m. next Saturday. There will be a reading of the Christmas Story, choir, Carol hymn sing, special music, skit and candlelight service. Refreshments will follow. The event is free and open to the public.
