The Shops at Boardman Park are celebrating their 25th year anniversary with a special day full of events on Aug. 19.
In 1992 there were only seven stores, but within the next year there were 10 more stores added. Just in time for the 10th annivarsary, Target joined the Shops. After 25 years of development, there are currently 28 stores in the Shops at Boardman Park, the newest addition being Casual Pint, which opened in July. The diverse mix of stores gives the customers a variety of shopping options.
The Shops at Boardman Park are a vital part of the Boardman community. The Shops have been a huge supported of local charities that include Easter Seals, The Rescue Mission, Golden String and more. Throughout the last 25 years, the Shops have raised more than $1,000,000 for local non profits and charities.
Shops owner, David Handel, will host an event on Aug. 19 at the Shops for the community and employees to celebrate the 25th anniversary.
There will be a Care Cruise and Bike Night, two concerts from Party of Two and Dueling Pianos featuring Todd Cutshaw and Andy Paczak, food, 50/50 raffles and a chance to win a $500 shopping spree.
The evening will begin at 5 p.m. with the Car and Bike Show and run until about 10 p.m.
The proceeds from the raffle, basket auction and beer sales will benefit Handel Foundation, a 501c3 whose mission is to enhance the lives of children and adults with disabilities.
