ASSOCIATIONS

Tri-Gold Prime Time Chapter of ABWA will meet at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at A La Cart Catering in Canfield. Social will begin at 5:30 p.m. with dinner at 6. The menu consists of hamburgers, hot dogs, potato salad, baked beans, fruit, coffee and tea and brownies. The newly elected members have taken on the responsibilities of their offices. They are Jolyn Bush, president; Elena Nigro, vice president; Sharon Pasquale, treasurer; and Kay Myers, secretary. Cost is $15. CLASSES

Campbell Memorial January and June Classes of 1948 will meet for breakfast at 9:30 a.m. Monday at Denny’s Restaurant in Boardman. All classmates and spouses are welcome.

Campbell Memorial High School Class of 1963 will meet at noon Aug. 16 at Cassese’s MVR, 410 N. Walnut St., Youngstown. Guests are welcome. For information or directions, call 330-746-7067.

Struthers High School Class of 1954 will meet for breakfast at 10 a.m. Aug. 12 at Denny’s in Boardman. Classmates and guests are welcome. No reservations are needed. Come meet and greet old friends.

Ursuline High School Class of 1951 will meet for brunch at 11 a.m. Tuesday at TJ’s Restaurant and Lounge at the Holiday Inn in Boardman. Spouses and friends are welcome. No reservations are needed.

CLUBS

Girard Liberty Kiwanis will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Golf Dome, 1300 N. State St.

Newcomers Club of Canfield will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday for a meet and greet at the home of Diane Durrant. Appetizers and beverages will be provided and there will be a raffle. The group will be collecting back-to-school supplies for the homeless and disadvantaged children at Beatitude House. Traditional supplies are needed as well as flash drives, tissues, hand sanitizer, paper towels, Play-Doh, backpacks, Ziploc bags and gift cards to buy school clothing. Mahoning Valley Stamp Club will meet from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at Highway Tabernacle, 3000 S. Raccoon Road, Austintown. The club meets the second Thursday of each month.

The Canfield AARP 3104 will meet at the Canfield Presbyterian Church Monday at 1 p.m. Blood pressures checks will be available from noon to 12:45 p.m. prior to the meeting. Julie Kercher will present a program on Operation Blessing.

GUILDS

Niles Chapter of the American Sewing Guild has scheduled the following neighborhood group meetings: Designing Women machine embroidery group meet at 10 a.m. next Friday at Domestic Sewing, 2011 Youngstown Road in Warren. LEAGUES

Austintown Junior Women’s League members recently attended the Ohio Federation of Women’s Clubs’ State Federation Leadership Day at Enchanted Acres in Columbus. The conference offered leadership ideas and team-building exercises. Guest speaker Rosemary Thomas, Ed.D. gave a talk titled “Play the Hand You’re Dealt.” The AJWL will sponsor an open membership meeting at 6 p.m. Sept. 13 at the Austintown Senior Center on Westchester Drive in Austintown. POLITICAL CLUBS

Trumbull County Federated Democratic Women’s Club will meet at 6 p.m. Monday at the Foster Pavilion in Perkins Park in Warren for the annual picnic. Members may bring guests. Members whose last name begins with A through L are asked to take a salad. Members whose last name begins with M through Z are asked to take a dessert. Trumbull County Probate Court Judge James A. Fredericka will give a brief talk about the Trumbull County Guardian Angels. Information and material for the club’s annual card party to be held Oct. 15 will be distributed to members. The Trumbull County Republican Party will host its Ronald Reagan barbecue from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Bronzwood Golf Club in Kinsman. Tickets are $45 per person and reservations can be made by calling 330-240-1826 or 330-891-8321. Jon Husted will be the special guest.

RELIGIOUS GROUPS

St. Rose Quilting Group will meet at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the parish house.

Higher Ground, an active, outdoor group, sponsored by Unity Center for Spiritual Living, 1226 Naylor Lloyd Road, Girard, is taking a trip to Presque Isle Saturday. SINGLES

D.A.R.E. has scheduled the following activities: 6 p.m. Tuesday for Bocce in Boardman Park; 6:30 p.m. Wednesday for music at Morley Pavilion, McClurg Road; 6:30 p.m. Thursday for music in Boardman Park; and 7 p.m. Friday for Putt-Putt at Sports World, South Avenue in Boardman.

SOCIETIES

Girard Historical Society will meet at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Barnhisel House, 1011 N. State St.

Struthers Historical Society, 50 Terrace St., will meet at noon Sunday. Plans for the second Alexander Frankfort Day on Sept. 30 will be discussed. After the meeting, a presentation of “Iron Valley: The Transformation of the Iron Industry in Ohio’s Mahoning Valley, 1802-1913” will be shown at the Trumbull County Historical Society, 303 Monroe St. NW, Warren. Members who would like to see the presentation are planning to carpool. All members are welcome.

SUPPORT GROUPS

Alzheimer Network Family Support Groups will meet as follows: noon Saturday at Sunrise Senior Living, 335 W. McKinley Way, Poland, call 330-707-1313 for reservations; 7 p.m., Tuesday at Zion’s Reformed United Church of Christ, 260 Main St., Greenville; 10 a.m. Wednesday at Children’s Rehabilitation, 855 Howland-Wilson Road, Howland. Codependency and Grief Support Group will meet Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the Chapel of Sheepfold Ministries, 233 North Ave. Sharon, Pa. A meeting will also take place at 7 p.m. at the care center of the Kelley-Robb-Cummins Funeral Home, North Main St., Hubbard. Group sessions are free but participants must register to participate. The support group was formed to reach out to help families who have lost loved ones to alcohol or substance abuse.

Friendship Train 12-Step Support Group meets from 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesdays at Rising Star Baptist Church, 2943 Wardle Ave. People who are trying to overcome any addiction are welcome and encouraged to attend. Those attending should enter through the church’s lower parking lot off Wardle.

NAMI Mahoning Valley offers support groups for those who deal with mental illness. Support groups meet as follows: Girard Family Support, first Thursday of each month at 11 a.m. at the Girard Library, 105 E. Prospect St., and Austintown Family Support Group, 7 p.m. the second Tuesday of each month at Alta Care, 142 Javit Court. NAMI Connection, a support group for people with a mental health diagnosis meets at the following locations: 1:30 p.m. Thursdays at the Community Center, 1344 Fifth Ave., Youngstown; 6 p.m. the second and fourth Thursdays at Alta Care in Austintown; and NAMI Connection for the dual diagnosed at 6 p.m. the second and fourth Wednesdays of the month at the Community Center, 1344 Fifth Ave., Youngstown. Nar-Anon, a 12-step program for relatives and friends affected by a loved one’s addiction to drugs, meets at 7 p.m. every Friday at Howland Community Church, 198 Niles-Cortland Road SE, Howland, and at 7 p.m. every Sunday upstairs at the Sahara Club, 2345 Youngstown Road SE, (Route 422) Warren. TOPS 1262, McDonald, meets from 9:15 to 10 a.m. for weigh-in Wednesday in the Community Room at the Girard Free Library, 105 E. Prospect St. The meeting will follow the weigh-in. New members are welcome.

TOPS 1497, Youngstown, will meet from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Maron Church, 1555 S. Meridian Road, Youngstown. New members are welcome; the first meeting is free. For information call 330-974-8450.

Youngstown Area Ostomy Support Group will meet from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at St. Elizabeth Boardman Health Center, 8401 Market St., Boardman, in the Azalea Room. Parking is free and light refreshments will be served. The group provides a safe, caring place to tell your story among people who understand and share your experiences and feelings. Family members and people considering an ostomy are also welcome. The group offers education, encouragement and support to anyone whose life is affected by an ostomy. Youngstown Area PFLAG will meet from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 323 Wick Ave., Youngstown. The support, education and advocacy organization meets the second Tuesday of each month at the church. It strives to create a society respectful of human diversity. VETERANS

VFW Triangle Post 2799 Ladies’ Auxiliary will meet at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the post home, 3161 E. South Range Road, New Springfield.
