Woman faces multiple charges

A Warren woman is in the Cleveland City Jail after being bound over to a Cuyahoga County grand jury on charges of felonious assault and child endangering, accused of purposely giving her child too much insulin.

Deva N. Young, 22, of Vermont Street Northwest in Warren, was charged by the Cleveland police with offenses alleged to have occurred March 12 in Cleveland.

According to the Cleveland.com, social workers at University Hospitals alerted Cleveland police March 12 the girl had between 12 and 77 times the amount of insulin that should have been in her system.

Doctors concluded the “extremely high” amount would have meant someone intentionally gave her that much insulin, police said.

A Trumbull County police report said Young was arrested March 7 while on the second floor of county family court on the Cleveland charges.

Woman accused of supplying drugs

A woman who was secretly indicted last week for supplying drugs that led to the death of another person was arrested Monday by U.S. marshals.

Katrina Young-Walsh, 30, of Youngstown, was taken into custody on a charge of involuntary manslaughter and is at the Mahoning County jail.

Young-Walsh also faces charges of corrupting another with drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The case was investigated by the Mahoning Valley Drug Task Force. Lt. Jeff Solic of the Austintown Police Department, who heads up the task force, said Young-Walsh is accused of supplying drugs May 21 or 22, 2015, that led to a man’s death.
