A summary of police activity for the city of Canfield and Austintown Township:

CANFIELD

March 18

Fraudulent charges: A report of fraudulent charges was made to a bank account for a person at a home in the 200 block of Saw Mill Run Road.

Criminal trespassing: Police arrested Brian Yertzell, 25, of Akron-Canfield Road, on a charge of criminal trespassing at Dollar General, 477 W. Main St.

March 20

Fraudulent charges: A report of fraudulent charges to a bank account was made by a person who lives at a home in the 500 block of Fairground Boulevard.

March 21

Warrant: Christopher Doll, 31, of Garfield Road, Niles, surrendered to police on a Canfield Mayor’s Court warrant for failure to appear.

Stolen/recovered property: A ring was reported stolen at the Evergreen Motel, but was recovered and returned to the owner.

March 22

Warrant: Police arrested Treavor English, 21, of Sleepy Hollow Drive on a warrant for failure to appear.

March 23

Drug possession: Police arrested Scott Cunningham, 36, of Royal Mall Drive, Niles, on charges of possession of dangerous drugs, drug paraphernalia and drug abuse.

March 24

Warrant: Police arrested Hilary Miller, 26, of Holliday, Fla., on a warrant from Erie Bureau Police, Pa., for failure to appear on traffic charges.

March 25

Drug abuse: Police arrested Wayne Huggins, 40, of West Marion Avenue, Youngstown, on a charge of drug abuse.

March 26

Drug abuse: Police arrested Jesse Hopkins, 28, of Lower Elkton Road, Columbiana, on a charge of drug abuse.

AUSTINTOWN

March 20

Drug offense: Police issued a summons to Jeffrey Green, 29, of Howland-Wilson Road, Howland, on charges of possession of marijuana and drug-abuse instruments.

Theft: Diesel fuel was possibly stolen out of eight Falcon trucks at Comprehensive Logistics, 365 Victoria Road.

Theft: Police arrested Heather Andrei, 33, of Kirk Road, on a theft charge. Police accused her of taking $67.58 in merchandise from Walmart, 6001 Mahoning Ave. She is also wanted on a warrant out of Girard Municipal Court.

March 21

Drug offense: Police issued a summons to Danielle Melnek, 29, of South Main Street on charges of drug paraphernalia.

Warrant: Police arrested William Barwick, 64, of Idaho Road on a warrant for failure to appear on a traffic violation.

Robbery: A cellphone and $50 were stolen from Walmart.

Drug offense: Police arrested Robert McCulley, 53, of Burkey Road on a charge of possession of heroin.

Theft: Police arrested Carlos Jusino, 27, of Westchester Drive on a theft charge. Police said he took $45.28 in merchandise from Walmart. They also arrested Crinlind Shawntae Justin, 44, same address, on a charge of criminal trespassing at Walmart.

Warrant: Police arrested Kyle Weber, 28, of Collier Road, Mercer, Pa., on a warrant for false identification in Mercer County.

Warrant: Police arrested Jessie Thompson, 27, of Cyrus Avenue, Hubbard, on a warrant for theft in a quick-change scam at Burger King, 5310 Mahoning Ave.

Warrant: Police arrested Terence James, 25, of Wesley Avenue, Youngstown, on a Youngstown warrant for failure to appear on a traffic charge.

Telecommunications harassment: There is a suspect in a case of telecommunications harassment at a home in the 10 block of North Wickliffe Circle.

March 22

Criminal damaging: A vehicle was damaged at a home in the 4000 block of Pembrook Road.

Warrant: Police arrested Crystal Hayes, 36, of Stanford Avenue on a warrant for failure to appear on charges of having no dog license, dogs running loose and three other charges.

Warrant: Police arrested Daniel Markell, 38, of Marion Avenue, Youngstown, on a warrant for failure to appear in Brookfield on a traffic offense.

Menacing: There is a suspect in a case of menacing at a home in the 4000 block of Woodhurst Drive.

March 23

Burglary: A female entered an apartment and put a wallet back in the 4000 block of Washington Square.

Theft: A man took a vehicle title and forged the owner’s name on it. This took place at a home in the 200 block of North Meridian Road.

Fraud: A Pembrook Road woman was out $4,050 from a fraudulent Western Union transaction. S

Recovered property: A bicycle was recovered in the 5000 block of Cider Mill Crossing.

March 24

Warrants: Police arrested Jason Sobnosky, 34, homeless, on warrants for theft from a motor vehicle of a credit card and for receiving stolen property from a home in the 6000 block of New Road. The suspect was charged with placing $3,000 in fraudulent charges on the credit card and $1,000 in charges on the debit card. The transactions took place at a local jeweler who agreed to show police their security camera footage. Additional charges were filed against Sobnosky when a second party at the residence said his truck had been burglarized and two credit cards had been stolen but only one was used for a total of $1,356.31 in transactions at a jewelry store, gas station and Walmart. The owner said his garage door was left open because there was a neighborhood party and his family was walking back and forth to it.

Theft: Cellphones were stolen from Austintown Fitch HIgh School, 4560 Falcon Drive.

March 25

Drug overdose: Two patients were transported to St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital after several doses of Narcan were administered to them at Phoenix House, 850 N. Meridian Road.

Drug offense: Police issued a summons to Briawna Gray, 25, of Westchester Avenue on charges of possession of marijuana and drug abuse.

Theft: Medication was stolen from a home in the 4000 block of Woodhurst Drive.

Animal complaint: Police issued a summons to Charles Hunter, 72, of Ardenwood Place for allowing his dog to run loose.

Warrant: Police arrested Tierria Thomas, 24, of Madison Avenue, Youngstown, on a warrant for failure to appear on a traffic violation in June 2015. She also was cited for a new traffic violation.

March 26

Warrant: Police arrested Elaina Viars, 24, of Four Mile Run Road on a warrant for failure to appear on a license forfeiture and falsification of child support.

Criminal damaging: A vinyl fence was damaged at a home in the 5000 block of Baylor Avenue.

Animal complaint: Police cited Charles Hunter, 72, of Ardenwood Place was cited for having a loose dog which resulted in a child being bitten.

Fraud: Forty-two unauthorized transactions were made to an account at a home in the 1000 block of Laurie Drive.

Recovered property: A cellphone was recovered at North Four Mile Run and Crum roads.

Theft: Police arrested Nicholas Aulet, 28, of Salt Springs Road, Mineral Ridge, on charges of theft and resisting arrest. Police said he took $490 in merchandise from JCPenney, 6000 Mahoning Ave.

Theft: Police arrested a teen shoplifter at Walmart.

Drug offense: Police arrested Steven Blazo, 53, of Wilcox Road, on possession of drug paraphernalia, and Kali Desimone, 21, of Kriedler Drive, Poland, on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia, drug possession of methamphetamine, and Rayvenn Ortiz, 20, of Youngstown, on a warrant for several counts and for falsification and possession of methamphetamine.
