Holy Trinity Serbian Orthodox Church, 53 Laird Ave., Youngstown, will serve fish dinners from 3:30 to 7 p.m. at the church hall. The menu will consist of baked or fried Icelandic cod or fried haddock; sides of Spanish rice, haluski, macaroni and cheese, french fries or string beans (choose two); coleslaw or applesauce; bread and butter; and coffee or tea. The cost is $11 for adults and $6 for children. Dessert will be an additional $1.75. Containers will be provided for takeouts. Orders will be accepted from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at 330-792-1005.

VFW Post 9571, 11397 Ellsworth Road, Ellsworth, will host an all-you-can-eat fried fish dinner from 4:30 to 7 p.m. The meal includes french fries, macaroni and cheese, coleslaw and applesauce. Four-piece chicken, chicken fingers or shrimp dinners also are available. Cost is $9. A chicken fingers dinner or fish dinner for seniors is $8.50, and a fish dinner for children under 10 is $5.50. The meals are offered the first and third Fridays of each month.


Southington American Legion Post 751, 3145 Warren-Burton Road, will host a Swiss steak dinner from 4 to 6:30 p.m. Donations are $9 for adults and $4 for children under 12. The meal consists of Swiss steak in gravy, mashed potatoes, coleslaw, vegetable, drinks and dessert. Takeouts will be available.


Disciples Christian Church, 565 Boardman-Canfield Road, Boardman, will host a spaghetti dinner from noon to 4 p.m. to help raise funds for Protestant Family Services. Carryouts will be available.

Pacentrano Club, 2629 Craiger Ave., Youngstown, will serve spaghetti dinners from noon to 4 p.m. every Sunday during football season. The dinners are $8 each for takeout or sit-down. For information or to place takeout orders, call 330-788-3393.

Christ the Good Shepherd at St. Joseph the Provider Church, 633 Porter Ave., Campbell, will sell potato, prune and kraut pirogi. The cost is $6 a dozen. Phone orders may be made from 8:30 to 11 a.m. Thursday and beginning at 7 a.m. Friday at 330-755-1316. Orders can be picked up from noon to 2 p.m.

Queen of the Holy Rosary Church, 291 Scoville Drive, Vienna, will serve creamed chicken on a biscuit takeout dinners from 3:30 to 6 p.m. Sept. 24. Order in advance by calling 330-845-4204 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. before Friday. Walk-ins are welcome. Adult dinners are $9 and $4.50 for children 10 and under. The meal includes mashed potatoes, green beans, coleslaw and dessert.

Saxon Culture Group’s semiannual sausage sale will offer 3- and 5-pound packages of large links in mild, hot and Saxon-recipe garlic flavors and 5-pound packages of bulk in all flavors. The cost is $3.50 per pound. Orders should be picked up from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 1 at the Youngstown Saxon Club, 710 S. Meridian Road, Youngstown. Phone orders to 330-718-0496 by Sept. 27.

Pickup will be from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The cost is $6.50 per dozen. Pirogi lunches will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Walk-in orders are welcome.

Wayne Town Hall, corner of routes 193 and 322, Wayne Township, will be the location of a soup and sandwich lunch from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. or until sold out Sept. 22. The Women’s Missionary Society of First Congregational Church of Wayne are the sponsors.
