Penguins finish second at YSU Kickoff Invitational

The Youngstown State women’s golf team finished second at the YSU Kickoff Invitational which concluded on Tuesday at the Mill Creek Park North Golf Course.

Indiana State carded 297 to rally and take the team title. The Penguins, who led after the first round with 301, shot a 311 on Tuesday, finishing in second place.

The Sycamores finished with a 605 to win by seven shots.

Placing third was Cleveland State with a 617. Dayton was fourth with a 623. Northern Kentucky and Ashland tied for fifth with 632.

The Sycamores had the top two finishers as Marissa Uradomo took medalist honors with a 146 and Sierra Hargens placed second with a 147.

The top YSU finisher was freshman Reva Morris who had a two-round total of 150 and tied for fourth place. Morris carded a first round 74 and a second round 76.

Junior Courtney Shutt had a final round 75 after opening with a 78 on Monday and finished seventh with a 153. Shutt moved up 10 places following her first round in the standings.

Sophomore Christina Cooper placed 10th with 155 (78-77), Megan Creager was a stroke back at 156 (76-80) and tied for 14th,

Mia Barchetti carded a 159 (79-80) and finished 21st while Haleigh Guerrero tied for 35th with a 167 (81-86).

The Penguins are next in action on Monday and Tuesday when they compete at the Northern Kentucky Invitational.
