Animals get most from Trump fans
The Angels for Animals booth had a fundraising competition to see if Donald Trump or Hillary Clinton fans love animals more.
Through Sunday, a total of $849 was donated by Trump supporters and $411 was donated by Clinton supporters.
Daily donations from Clinton supporters never surpassed daily donations from Trump supporters during the first five days of the fair.
Trump supporters raised the most on Sunday, with $316. Clinton supporters donated the most to Saturday, with $113 donated.
Fairgoers share their thoughts of peace
The Fine Arts building started a “Peace Together” board during the last few days of the fair for fairgoers to spread messages of peace.
The bolded words: love, justice, community, wonder, gratitude and diversity were surrounded by messages that represented those words.
Fairgoers were encouraged to share their thoughts of peace, love and unity.
Medical personnel tend to 500 during fair
The Red Cross medical building saw about 500 patients during the 170th fair.
Patients came in with a range of problems from dealing with the heat to blisters and cuts.
The Canfield Fair had its best Sunday since 2010 this year with total attendance of 78,662, compared with Sunday 2015 attendance of 73,464, amounting to an increase of 5,198.
Through Sunday, attendance was 263,513, compared with the 2015 five-day total of 244,008, for an increase of 19,505.
Monday’s attendance will be learned today and reported in Wednesday’s Vindicator.
