Youngstown Saxon Club, 710 Meridian Road, will be the location of a quarter auction benefit for the Urban and Shelley Meyer Fund for cancer research on Sept. 15. Autographed Ohio State sports memorabilia will be among various prizes offered at the “Buckeyes Blast Cancer” event. It also will benefit Camp Quality Ohio, which provides a summer camping experience and year-round support for children with cancer. Doors open at 5 p.m. and the auction begins at 6. Tickets are $5 and include a soft drink, snack, a bidding paddle and a door prize ticket. There will be more than 100 prizes, gift baskets, and door prizes. Pizza slices will cost $1. Sts. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Orthodox Church is sponsoring bingo Sunday and Oct. 2 at the Orthodox Center, 1025 N. Belle Vista, Youngstown. Doors open at noon and games begin at 2 p.m. They will be the same format as Monday and Wednesday bingos.

Austintown Alumni Association is offering a raffle to raise money for its scholarship fund. Tickets will be sold for $1 each or six for $5. First prize is $500; second, $200 in gift certificates from local businesses; and third, a dinner for two at Rachel’s Restaurant and at The Manor.
