Selah theater offers ‘Kitchen Witches’

Staff report

Selah Dessert Theater, located on the upper level of Selah Restaurant, 119 S. Bridge St., will open its 2016-17 season with the comedy “The Kitchen Witches.”

Written by Caroline Smith and winner of the 2005 Samuel French Canadian Playwrighting Contest, the play tells the story of Isobel and Dolly, the hosts of cable TV cooking shows that have been canceled. They despise each other but find themselves co-hosting a successful new cooking show together.

Throw in the son of Isobel, who was raised by Dolly, and a camera person who drinks too much, and mayhem ensues.

The cast includes Brandy Johanntges, Monical Beasley-Martin, Erica Finehold Perna and Dan Pompili. Director is Mary Ruth Lynn. Performances will be at 8 p.m. Sept. 8, 9, 16 and 17. There is an opening night package Sept. 8 that includes a four-course dinner, show and dessert for $35 (tax and gratuity not included). Call 330-755-2759 for reservations.
