The Canfield High School Soccer Boosters honored the senior members of the Canfield High School boys soccer team during Senior Night on Sept. 29.
Family, friends, teammates and classmates recognized the three senior players Alex Petrallo, Jad Saleh and Tanor English.
The senior team members were introduced at Bob Dove Field before the varsity game versus South Range.
The players were escorted by their families as they walked through a double line of their teammates after they were greeted by Head Coach Phil Simone.
“It’s hard to believe they are seniors. I have worked with some of them since they were young. I still remember them as campers at our Kids Camp when they were 6- or 7-years-old. I know there are only three of them this year and it’s not a big class, but that doesn’t change how I feel. They are definitely a very special group,” Simone said.
Canfield High School student council provided the flowers for the players’ parents.
As part of the celebration, before the game began, the three senior members led their team in running through a hoop banner which recognized the seniors.
The Canfield High School Soccer Boosters hosted a dinner in the high school’s cafeteria after the varsity game for the families and teammates of the senior team members. The junior class team members parents organized the dinner to honor the senior players, as is the Canfield High School soccer tradition.
