“Timeless” (10 P.M., NBC): One of the more intriguing new shows of the fall season is “Timeless.” It’s a sci-fi thriller that has a hand-picked team of experts traveling through time to battle a baddie who is out to alter human history. First stop: the Hindenburg disaster of 1937.

Ottoman-inspired works in concert

WARREN

A concert titled “Ottoman Ties: European Art Music from Former Ottoman Lands and Viennese Ottoman Representations” will be performed at 7:30 p.m. today in the auditorium in Kent State University at Trumbull’s Classroom/Administration Building. It is free to the public. The campus is at 4314 Mahoning Ave. NW.

The concert of classical vocal and piano features music by composers from Bulgaria, Turkey and Sephardic communities, as well as Ottoman-inspired music by Mozart. The musicians will be Katherine Meizel of Bowling Green State University, Eve McPherson of Kent State University at Trumbull and Ralitsa Georgieva-Smith, Cleveland Institute of Music.

Block party

CAMPBELL

The Latino Heritage Festival Committee and Papa’s Restaurant will have a block party Saturday at Papa’s, 284 Twelfth St. The party will start with a parade at 11 a.m. that will go from Roosevelt Park to Papa’s Restaurant.

Music will be provided by DJ Kenny Ken. There will be vendors, dancing, a lip-sync battle and some surprises. Papa’s kitchen will be open all day. The family event and is open to everyone; children under 17 should be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

An after-party for adults will follow at Papa’s. Those interested in being a vendor, a part of the parade or a volunteer should contact calltakervicky@yahoo.com.
