Shepherd of the Valley–Howland is offering a job fair from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday at 4100 North River Road, Warren. Open interviews will be conducted. Interviewees for any of SOV’s full-time or part-time housekeeping, state-trained nurses aide and licensed practical nurse positions should bring a resume. Boil alert lifted
The Trumbull County Sanitary Engineer’s Department has lifted a water boil alert for county water customers on State Road west of North Leavitt, Glen, Esther Avenue, Sabrina Lane, and Old Colony and Meadowview drives. The alert was issued Thursday and lifted at 12:55 p.m. Saturday.
Top Hat help
Top Hat Productions, a local nonprofit theatrical organization, will assist the less fortunate Monday at the Youngstown Dorothy Day House of Hospitality, 620 Belmont Ave. The event begins at noon and will include free showers, haircuts and entertainment by volunteer Top Hat vocalists. Dinner will be served from 4 to 6 p.m. Top Hat participates in outreach events for the homeless once every month.
Route 7 repairs
State Route 7 will be restricted at state Route 45 for a bridge repair project starting Monday, the Ohio Department of Transportation announced. One lane of traffic will be maintained in each direction; completion date is Dec. 31. ODOT’s contractor for the $1.9 million project is Shelly & Sands Inc. of Columbus. Next year work on the project will continue on state Route 7 bridges near Tiltonsville and Mingo Junction in Jefferson County.
Cemetery tour set
A tour of the historic Tod Homestead Cemetery, 2200 Belmont Ave., will take place at 2 p.m. next Sunday. Local historian Steffon Wydell Jones will show the grave sites of some of the community’s “movers and shakers.” In case of rain, the tour will be rescheduled for Oct. 16 at the same time. Two-hour employment skills and training workshop orientations will be offered twice daily this week beginning at 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. Monday through Thursday at the Mahoning-Youngstown Community Action Partnership, 1325 Fifth Ave. Attending one of them is required for participation in the free six-week job readiness class that begins the week of Oct. 10. Candidates must be Mahoning County residents, 18 or older, have a high school diploma or be working towards GED completion. Annual household income eligibility ceiling is $30,312 for a family of four. Call 330-747-7921 for more information.
