Doors will open at 9 a.m., the sale begins at 11 until sold out. Cookies will cost $8 per pound and specialty cookies will cost $6 per dozen for clothespin cookies, maple twists, tarts and kiffles. Mahoning Valley Historical Society is hosting a Christmas Marketplace from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Tyler History Center, 325 W. Federal St., downtown Youngstown. The society is seeking holiday crafters, cookie bakers, candy makers and vendors. The show will be a combination of handmade artisan crafts and traditional cookie walk. Nevels Temple Church of God in Christ, 939 Elm St., Youngstown, will host a free toy giveaway from 1 to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday for infants through age 17. To qualify participants cannot be signed up at Salvation Army, must have current identification, must show proof of whole family income, must show legal papers of custody of children or proof of legal guardianship, must have a Social Security or medical card for each child or a printed form from Job and Family Services showing all information.
