TRAVEL APP FlightSpeak launches CheckPoint

FlightSpeak, the most comprehensive global airport information mobile app for business and leisure travelers, introduces a new security wait time feature named CheckPoint, which provides estimated wait and screening times for security checkpoints at the top 100 busiest airports worldwide.

Just in time for the busy holiday travel season, this new feature is designed to help passengers better anticipate security line delays so they can enjoy a more efficient, less stressful airport travel experience.

During U.S. peak travel periods, the Transportation Security Administration has worked hard to reduce security line wait times by increasing staffing and partnerships with airports and airlines. However, domestic and international air travel has surged by more than five percent this year. FlightSpeak aims to assist passengers by providing advance notice so they can arrive at the airport with enough time to clear potentially lengthy security lines.

FlightSpeak’s CheckPoint feature leverages a combination of flight volumes, weather information and machine learning to improve wait time estimation accuracy.

In addition to its proprietary approach, the app enables passengers to upload their own security wait times, providing current and real-time estimates based on the real-world experience of travelers. FlightSpeak will initially provide CheckPoint for the largest 50 U.S. airports, and will continue the rollout to the 300 global airports currently represented on the app.

Available for free on iOS and Android mobile devices, flightSpeak has already helped thousands of travelers take advantage of airport services and amenities around the globe. From information about Wi-Fi availability to restaurant ratings and even fun activities for parents and their children, flightSpeak is an easy to use mobile guide for travelers to quickly access a wide variety of airport information, and share their own experiences and tips with other travelers.
