Thanksgiving services | At Valley churches


Mahoning Valley churches are conducting special services in honor of Thanksgiving.

Christian Bible Baptist Church, 2369 Oak Street Ext., Youngstown: A service is planned at 10 a.m. Thanksgiving Day with Pastor Keith A. Neal.

Gospel Baptist Church, 6235 Clingan Road, Poland: A special Thanksgiving service will take place at 7 p.m. Tuesday instead of the regular Wednesday midweek service. Ron Royalty is pastor.

First United Methodist Church, 22 N. Market St., Girard: A community Thanksgiving service is planned at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

First United Presbyterian Church, 109 W. Rebecca St., East Palestine: A community Thanksgiving service is planned at 7 p.m. Sunday.

Holy Family Church, 2729 Center Road, Poland: A community Thanksgiving service is planned at 7 p.m. Sunday.

Hubbard Christians in Action: A community Thanksgiving service is planned at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Coalburg United Methodist Church, 1906 Wick Campbell Road, Hubbard.

Martin Luther Lutheran Church, 420 Clearmount Drive, Youngstown: A Thanks-giving Day worship service is planned at 10 a.m. Thursday.

Mineral Ridge community churches: A community Thanksgiving service is planned at 4 p.m. Sunday at First Presbyterian Church, 3654 Main St., Mineral Ridge. All community pastors will participate. Pastor Ron Blakeman of the Church of Christ will be speaker. After the service, the deacons of First Presbyterian Church will host a reception in fellowship hall.

North Lima Mennonite Church, 90 Mennonite Drive, North Lima: A community Thanksgiving service is scheduled at 7 p.m. Sunday.

Redeemer Lutheran Church, 2305 S. Canfield-Niles Road (Route 46), Austintown: A Thanksgiving Eve service will be conducted at 7 p.m. Wednesday.

St. Paul the Apostle Church, 10143 Main St., New Middletown: A community Thanksgiving service is planned at 7 p.m. Sunday. The offering will go the general fund of Springfield Township Council of Churches & Community to help with emergencies.

Sts. Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Church, 180 Belvedere Ave. NE, Warren: The houses of worship at “Holy Corners” on East Market Street and Belvedere in Warren will continue the tradition started back in the early 1950s, the annual interfaith Thanksgiving service, with a service at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday. Participants are Beth Israel Temple, Sts. Peter and Paul and Central Christian, who began the tradition, and have been joined by St. Paul’s Lutheran and Warren Baptist Temple. The Rev. Marc Runyon of Central Christian will give the message. Refreshments will follow the service, and the public is invited.

Unity Centre for Spiritual Living, 1226 Naylor Lloyd Road, Liberty: A Thanksgiving service is planned at 7 p.m. Wednesday.

Zion Lutheran Church, 3300 Canfield Road, Youngstown: A Thanksgiving eve service with Holy Communion will take place at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
