Staff report

WARREN

Eric G. Lawson, 37, formerly of Turnberry Drive in Boardman, who was sentenced last month to 26 years or more in prison in Michigan, was sentenced Wednesday to 60 months in prison for two local robberies.

Lawson pleaded guilty Wednesday before Judge W. Wyatt McKay of Trumbull County Common Pleas Court to two counts of robbery.

He robbed the Speedway gas station on East Market Street on Oct. 9, 2015, and Five Guys Burgers and Fries on Niles-Cortland Road in Howland on Oct. 11, 2015.

But the 60-month prison sentence for those robberies will be served at the same time as the 26 years or more he will spend in prison in Michigan for robbing a Walgreens on Oct. 14, 2015.

Lawson had been convicted of seven previous robberies in Mahoning and Trumbull counties dating back to 2003.
