Lecture, discussion on arts education
Tim Katz, executive director of the Ohio Alliance for Arts Education, will present a free lecture and discussion from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Raymond John Wean Foundation, 147 W. Market St. The event is part of the Power of the Arts series of presentations.

Katz’s discussion will be of interest to any art educators parent, teaching artist or arts and culture organization that works with school-age children. National and state policies and budget constraints continue to put arts education programs at risk of being reduced or eliminated.
Katz will delve into this topic at Wednesday’s session and discuss the work of the OAAE. The moderator will be Becky Keck, SMARTS director.
Ballroom dance club Latin party
The YSU Ballroom Dance Club will present Danza de la Noche, a Latin dance party, from 8 to 11 p.m. Thursday at Kuzman’s Lounge, 1025 S. State St.
