The Poland library hosted a Painting Party for Adults event on Oct. 3.

Guests who attended the event had the opportunity to paint their own autumn canvas to take home with them. Jan Luoma, an instructor from Imagination Art Studios, who led the class.

Each person received a canvas, paint, brushes and other supplies to use for their paintings.

Luoma had a finished painting on display for the guests to base their painting off of. Stencils of pumpkins and leaves were available for people to use if they didn’t want to freehand their pictures. The finished product was a painting of two pumpkins in a patch with a sky behind them.

Many of the guests came with their friends or family members as a chance to spend time together while creating artwork they are able to bring back with them. Several people said they were going to give their paintings to someone else as a gift, while others said they were going to hang them up in their homes.

The Poland library will be hosting two more Halloween painting parties for children in kindergarten through fourth grade on Oct. 13 and grades 5-12 on Oct. 17.
