Stambaugh unveils bands for outdoor concert series

This summer’s Bands at the Baugh summer concert series at Stambaugh Auditorium will feature Davis & McKay, Howard and the Point Five Band and Demos Papadimas.

Bands at the Baugh takes place on Thursday evenings in the garden on the south side of the building. It addition to local musicians, it will feature a cash bar and food trucks. Admission is $10 and includes one drink from the bar.

The series will begin June 16 at 6 p.m. with Davis & McKay, back by popular demand from last season. The acoustic rock group’s repertoire spans four decades of songs.

On July 21 at 6 p.m., R&B/jazz outfit Howard and the Point Five Band, also a crowd favorite, will return for the third-consecutive year.

The final concert on Aug. 18 will be a bit different. Dubbed “B@B: After Dark,” it will take place from 8 to 10 p.m. with Dylan-esque/Americana singer-songwriter Demos Papadimas, with Angie DeNicholas as the opening act.

Papadimas released his latest album, “Waiting,” in April. DeNicholas will release her next album, “Gracious Hum,” on June 24.
