Niles man arraigned on rape and kidnapping charges
Robert B. Leasock, 43, of Grant Street, was arraigned in Niles Municipal Court this morning on one count of rape and one of kidnapping.
He is accused of holding a woman hostage for several days at his home and forcing her to prostitute herself so he could get drugs, Niles police said.
No plea was required on the felony offenses.
The woman, 31, told police Feb. 12, the day she escaped, that Leasock used a gun. The woman escaped after finding a cell phone in the home that she used to call 911, according to a Niles police report.
Leasock was arrested Monday and placed in the Trumbull County jail, where he remains locked up in lieu of $75,000 bond.
He also pleaded not guilty Tuesday to misdemeanor domestic violence related to the case case. If convicted, he could get more than 20 years in prison.
