Broadway actress Jenkins to join PSO in concert

NEW CASTLE, PA.

The Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra will bring its annual Holiday Pops concert to Scottish Rite Cathedral on Dec. 15.

The concert, a holiday tradition, will be led by assistant conductor Francesco Lecce-Chong and include seasonal favorites such as “All I Want For Christmas Is You,” “Waltz of the Flowers” from “The Nutcracker,” “Sleigh Ride,” “White Christmas” and “We Wish You a Merry Christmas.”

The family concert also will include more seasonal tunes and carols, plus a few surprises.

Guest vocalist will be Broadway actress Capathia Jenkins, who was recently seen in the NBC live broadcast of “The Wiz.” Jones also appeared in the Broadway production of the Disney musical “Newsies.”

The concert begins at 8 p.m. and will be presented without intermission, ending at about 9:30 p.m.
